THE PHOENIX & THE FISH
Loose the sails of this sinking ship, pull back the lids of my eyes. In my fog I've mistaken smoke for clouds, thundering waves, the creaks are cries. I laid to rest in my weariness and now have only myself to blame. Through the night this blaze will cut through the dark. At twilight the haze will leave no mark. To the sea I go. Succumbed to the current slow. Gather, breathe back life into me. Burst forth from icy depths love, light, and melody. The likes of which no one's ever seen.
A red dawn precedes the arrival of the king amidst hallowed songs of children of light. Beside them mother angles singing "Take flight!" Ressurect, reconnect me a falcon of flames to perch upon my father's arm. Together we'll impede the power of the doer of irreparable harm. We'll fight. We'll fight fire with fire against the scourge of sea and sky while he tries to consume our guiding star of night.
And when all is at peace pour me back into the waters from which I came. No longer contained by this cup I've made of miry clay. No longer a single blade of grass, but an entire meadow. An ocean. Moving together, working together, loving together. Amen!
